About Access Medical Equipment

In 2006, we were married and Travis had a dream to buy a business. But we were young, just 24 and 25 years old, and no bank was about to lend us the money we needed to buy a business. So Travis chose the then 4-year old Access Medical Equipment company for a few reasons, one of them being it was half ’owner financed.’ The other half was kindly financed in the form of a loan from a family member. Access Medical Equipment became ours, and it’s been a great decision.

In 2017 we moved the business from the tiny location it had been into a place about five times the size. It was a scary move, to grow the shop size that much bigger, but it worked out well, thanks to the support of our customers.

In 2020 we purchased another durable medical supply business in Renton. It was called Cornells Medical at the time and had been in business for over 50 years. We have since renamed it to Access Medical Equipment, extensively renovated the store space and expanded inventory kept on hand. We have an awesome team helping in that location, and one special employee, Shawna, had been employed at that location for over 40 years!

So, here we are, 17 years into this business adventure and still loving it. Travis runs the shop and I, Glenda, stay at home with our three girls, Gray, Willa and Dottie.

We are so blessed to have an incredible team of employees that work tirelessly to provide each of our customers with outstanding service. We try to have a little fun along the way. We acknowledge that if you are in need of our services, then you've either had an injury, a scheduled surgery or are simply needing some extra comfort and support while you or a loved one is aging. We try to make the process of obtaining what you need to be enjoyable as possible and we strive to treat each customer as our friend and build a long-term, lasting relationship

When you support a small business like ours, you keep your money in our community. You support not only our family but also the families of our team members. We also try to shop locally and small whenever we can, because we know it’s best for the local economy.

We would like to say THANK YOU for your continued support.
